Sincronizar ‘automáticamente’ tu IPhone con GCalendar

Como usuario novato aun con el iPhone que me considero (apenas 1mes de uso) aun andaba buscando alguna aplicacion para sincronizar algo tan básico para mi manera de ver como puede ser el Google Calendar. Mi preferida despues del buscador e incluso mas util que el Gmail para mi.

No conseguia explicarme porque no se habia conseguido que realmente se tuviera acceso en los dos sentidos a los calendarios de una manera totalmente transparente.

Pasar por el PC para cualquier cambio no es útil, si quieres trabajar realmente ‘en movilidad’.
El interface web desde el iPhone es mas que muy basico. La peor version de todas sus aplicaciones sin duda.
Así que estaba evaluando aplicaciones de terceros, pero que no se integraban dentro del Calendario del iPhone. Si no que se creaban su propio interface para acceder al GCalendar. Encontré SaiSuke en este estilo, pero la version free te dejaba demasiado con la miel en los labios de lo que podia.

Y cuando estaba a punto de decidirme a pagar por un programa para acceder a mi querido GCalendar aparece/encuentro la nota de Google “Sync: Set Up Your iPhone or iPod Touch” justo para lo que estoy buscando.

Los pasos basicos son: (las capturas al final de mi comentario)

Crear cuenta en el iPhone de mail con MS Exchange.
Darle un nombre, dominio en blanco, el correo como username, el pass. NEXT.
Como servidor darle m.google.com. NEXT.
Escoger que servicios quieres sincronizar (*) y darle a SYNC (**).
Disfrutar!

(*) La sincronización del email aun no esta disponible. La sincronización BORRA los datos locales y carga los remotos. Esto de que borre los datos locales lo he comprobado con el Calendar solamente.

(**) Para el calendar de momento solo sincroniza tu calendario principal. Si tienes varios calendarios propios y compartidos (para trabajar con mas gente) te encuentras conque solo se sincroniza el principal. El resto no existen desde el iPhone.

Y un ultimo detalle importante es que como tira de Sync, solo puedes configurar una cuenta de Exchange. Si el correo de tu empresa va por MS Exchange y ya la tienes configurada no vas a poder usar este truco. Mi mas sentido pésame

A pesar de estos dos ligeros detalles (no son errores en realidad, si no mas bien especificaciones no-completas, o no como me gustaria a mi) ya ha pasado a ser de primera necesidad para mi. Solo espero que sigan trabajando en ella y consigan que sincronice todos los calendarios. Y si ademas permitiera no perder los datos locales ya seria la ostia!

To set up Google Sync on your iPhone or iPod Touch device, please follow the steps below.

Requirements and Back Up

1. Make sure your device has version 2.2 firmware or above. You can check your current version by going to Settings > About > Version.
To upgrade, follow the instructions at http://www.apple.com/iphone/softwareupdate/.

2. Back up any Contacts and Calendars from your phone to your computer before proceeding. The iPhone will delete Contacts and Calendars during setup.

Getting Started

1. Open the Settings application on your device’s home screen.
2. Open Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
3. Tap Add Account….
4. Select Microsoft Exchange.

Enter Account Info

5. In the Email field, enter the name of the account (anything you’d like).
6. Leave the Domain field blank.
7. Enter your full Google Account email address as the Username.
8. Enter your Google Account password as the Password.
9. Tap Next at the top of your screen.
10. A new Server field will appear. Enter m.google.com.
11. Press Next at the top of your screen again.

12. Select the Google services you want to sync. Currently only Contacts and Calendar are supported.
Make sure that you have backed up your data before proceeding.

13. Press Sync twice when warned about data loss.

You’ve set up Google Sync for your iPhone. Synchronization will begin automatically if you have Push enabled on your phone. You can also open the Calendar or Contacts app and wait a few seconds to start a sync.

Tip: If your business, school, or organization uses Google Apps, your administrator will first need to enable ActiveSync before you can take advantage of this feature.

Gracias al arte de @witezen que ha tenido a bien retomar el relevo del mantenimiento del proyecto @galletas

Lo cierto es que entreo otras muchas cosa ha limpiado el código lo ha mejorado y ha hecho participar directamente a la API de Twitter, ha mejorado la caché de la aplicación a fin de que no deniege el envío de galletas al motor de Twitter, etc.

Codepad, prueba tu código desde el navegador

Codepad es un interesante aplicación Web para muchos programadores. Se trata de un sitio desde donde cualquier puede probar sus códigos para saber si realmente funcionan. Además en caso de fallar nos mostrará la/s líneas donde se encuentra el error.

Admite 13 lenguajes de programación diferentes entre los que podemos encontrar: C, C++, PHP, Phyton, Ruby entre otros.

Además también guarda un historial con códigos que se han insertado en el sitio recientamente. Su uso por supuesto es gratuito y no necesita registro, aunque si nos registramos tendremos nuevas opciones como la revisión de códigos en grupo por ejemplo.

Peuqeño TIP para cuando tratas con texto que interesa que esté en min. o may. en MS Word

Pulsando shift+F3 se puede cambiar de mayusculas a minusculas y viceversa.

Modes

Vi has two modes insertion mode and command mode. The editor begins in command mode, where the cursor movement and text deletion and pasting occur. Insertion mode begins upon entering an insertion or change command. [ESC] returns the editor to command mode (where you can quit, for example by typing :q!). Most commands execute as soon as you type them except for “colon” commands which execute when you press the ruturn key.

Quitting

Deleting Text

Almost all deletion commands are performed by typing d followed by a motion. For example, dw deletes a word. A few other deletes are:

x	Delete character to the right of cursor

D	Delete to the end of the line
dd	Delete current line
:d	Delete current line

Yanking Text

Like deletion, almost all yank commands are performed by typing y followed by a motion. For example, y$ yanks to the end of the line. Two other yank commands are:

Changing text

The change command is a deletion command that leaves the editor in insert mode. It is performed by typing c followed by a motion. For wxample cw changes a word. A few other change commands are:

C	Change to the end of the line
cc	Change the whole line

Putting text

p	Put after the position or after the line
P	Put before the poition or before the line

Buffers

Named buffers may be specified before any deletion, change, yank or put command. The general prefix has the form “c where c is any lowercase character. for example, “adw deletes a word into buffer a. It may thereafter be put back into text with an appropriate “ap.

Markers

Named markers may be set on any line in a file. Any lower case letter may be a marker name. Markers may also be used as limits for ranges.

`c	Go to beginning of marker c line.
‘c	Go to first non-blank character of marker c line.

Search for strings

/string	Search forward for string
?string	Search back for string
n	Search for next instance of string

Replace

The search and replace function is accomplished with the :s command. It is commonly used in combination with ranges or the :g command (below).

:s/pattern/string/flags	Replace pattern with string according to flags.
g	Flag – Replace all occurences of pattern
c	Flag – Confirm replaces.
&	Repeat last :s command

Counts

Nearly every command may be preceded by a number that specifies how many times it is to be performed. For example, 5dw will delete 5 words and 3fe will move the cursor forward to the 3rd occurence of the letter e. Even insertions may be repeated conveniently with thismethod, say to insert the same line 100 times.

Ranges

Ranges may precede most “colon” commands and cause them to be executed on a line or lines. For example :3,7d would delete lines 3-7. Ranges are commonly combined with the :s command to perform a replacement on several lines, as with :.,$s/pattern/string/g to make a replacement from the current line to the end of the file.

He aquí un ejemplo de lo que hice recientemente para crear una nueva base de datos y usuario. Por supuesto, el nombre de base de datos, el nombre de usuario y contraseña han sido cambiados:

Montar discos de vmware desde la maquina fisica

Has tenido algun problema con una maquina virtual? Necesitas acceder a los datos que tenias en uno de sus discos y la maquina no arrancaba? VMware Server tiene una utilidad que te puede ayudar.

Es posible ‘montar’ sus particiones y poder acceder a ellas como si fueran un disco físico. El comando maravilloso es vmware-mount.pl.

1. Empezamos averiguando el número de partición a montar.

2. Y lo montamos.
# vmware-mount.pl camino_completo_al_disco-virtual 1 -t ntfs -o ro punto_de_montaje

En este caso hemos montado una particion NTFS de un WindowsXP como Sólo Lectura.

NOTA: El mensaje de confirmación después de montar el disco ya nos advierte que sólo estará montado mientras no terminemos el script. En el momento que lo matemos o se cierre la sesión, se desmontaráa. Supongo que solo está pensado para accesos puntuales, así que quizás sea mejor no pensar el montarlo para un uso normal como hacemos con cualquier otro dispositivo.

El hombre del tiempo en tu escritorio

Son muchas las utilidades que tenemos disponibles para estar informados del tiempo meteorológico a través de nuestra máquina. Sin embargo el nuevo desarrollo iniciado Raúl González Duque me ha llamado la atención por su funcionalidad y simplicidad. Weather Wallpaper extrae la información meteorológica del servicio NOAA mostrándonosla en forma de Wallpaper en nuestro escritorio. Además del correspondiente tarball, los usuarios de Debian (y derivadas) tienen la posibilidad de instalarlo a través del correspondiente paquete DEB. Ejecutarlo es tan sencillo como lanzarlo desde Aplicaciones > Accesorios > Weather wallpaper. En mi opinión, un aspecto a mejorar para posteriores versiones, es el sistema de configuración de la zona geográfica de la que queremos la información meteorológica. Esta información se almacena en el fichero ~/.weather-wallpaper/conf a través del correspondiente código de estación meteorológica. Para modificarlo deberemos consultar nuestro código (códigos de España) y sustituir el que viene en la instalación por defecto. Por ejemplo, para mi caso que vivo en Sevilla corresponde el código ‘LEZL’ de la estación meteorológica del aeropuerto de San Pablo, por lo que mi fichero conf quedaría:

Captura la pantalla de tu ordenador. Guarda imágenes o vídeo en flash.Jing Project es un programa para Windows y Mac OS X, paras realizar capturas de pantallas y grabaciones de vídeos del escritorio completo o las partes que se quieran seleccionar. Una herramienta gratis y sin código fuente similar a CamStudio, que también es Open Source.

Hay que seleccionar el juego de teclas para activarlo en cualquier momento, permitiendo en ese momento realizar una captura de imagen en formato PNG o de vídeo, en el caso de las imágenes de vídeo hay que destacar su alta calidad de grabación en formato Flash SWF, al igual que ya hace con CamStudio. Luego se puede publicarlo gratis en ScreenCast.com.

Jing Project

Una buena alternativa que dispone del código fuente libre es CamStudio, que además de generar Flash SWF también genera ficheros AVI.
